ଅନୁଭୂତି - ଦୁନିଆରେ ବିଭିନ୍ନ ପ୍ରକାର ମସଲା ରହିଛି। ଯାହା ନିଜର ସ୍ୱାଦ ପାଇଁ ବେଶ ପରିଚିତ। ମାତ୍ର ଏପରି ଏକ ମସଲା ରହିଛି ଯାହା ନିଜର ମୂଲ୍ୟ ପାଇଁ ବେଶ ପରିଚିତ। ଏହି କାରଣରୁ ଏହାକୁ ଦୁନିଆର ସବୁଠାରୁ ମହଙ୍ଗା ମସଲା ବୋଲି କୁହାଯାଏ। ଏହି ମସଲାର ଗଛକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ସବୁଠାରୁ ମହଙ୍ଗା ବୃକ୍ଷ କୁହାଯାଏ। ଏହାକୁ ଚାଷ କରାଯାଉଥିବା ପ୍ରମୁଖ ଦେଶ ମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଭାରତ ସମେତ ଫ୍ରାନ୍ସ ସ୍ପେନ,ଇରାନ, ଇଟଲୀ,ଗ୍ରୀସ,ଜର୍ମାନୀ, ଜାପାନ,ରୁଷ, ଅଷ୍ଟ୍ରେଲିୟା, ଆଦି। ଭାରତରେ ଏହାର ଚାଷ ଜମ୍ମୁର କିଶତବାଡ ଭଳି ଅନ୍ୟ କେତେକ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ହୋଇଥାଏ। ଦୁନିଆର ସବୁଠାରୁ ମହଙ୍ଗା ମସଲାର ନାମ କେସର। ବଜାରରେ ଏହାର ମୂଲ୍ୟ କିଲୋ ପ୍ରତି ଅଢେଇ ରୁ ୩ ଲକ୍ଷ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ରହିଛି। ଏହା ମହଙ୍ଗା ହେବାର କାରଣ ଏହାର ପ୍ରାୟ ଦେଢ ଲକ୍ଷ ଫୁଲରୁ ଏକ କିଲୋ ଶୁଖିଲା କେସର ପ୍ରାପ୍ତି ହୋଇଥାଏ।

ସୁନା ଭଳି ମହଙ୍ଗା ହେବା କାରଣରୁ କେସରକୁ ରେଡ ଗୋଲ୍ଡ ମଧ୍ୟ କୁହାଯାଏ। ମାନ୍ୟତା ଅନୁଯାୟୀ, ଆଜି ଠାରୁ ପ୍ରାୟ ୨୩୦୦ ବର୍ଷ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ପ୍ରଥମେ ସିକନ୍ଦର ମହାନର ସେନା ଏହାର ଚାଷ କରିଥିଲେ।

ସେହିଭଳି କେସରର ବ୍ୟବହାର ଆୟୁର୍ବେଦ ଚିକିତ୍ସା, ବିଶେଷ ବ୍ୟଞ୍ଜନ, ମିଠା ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତିରେ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରାଯାଇଥାଏ। ପାନ ମସଲାରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏହାର ବ୍ୟବହାର କରାଯାଇଥାଏ। କେସରକୁ ନିମ୍ନ ରକ୍ତଚାପକୁ ସଠିକ କରିବା ସହ କଫ ନାଶକ ବୋଲି କୁହାଯାଏ। ଏହି କାରଣରୁ ଏହାର ବ୍ୟବହାର ଚିକିତ୍ସା ଠାରୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରି ବିଭିନ୍ନ ଔଷଧ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତିରେ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରାଯାଏ।
